Note: We are terribly sorry for misunderstanding the permission given to WeddingCakeHints by the PinkCakeBox in featuring their creation. We have removed images of their cakes from our posts. Please click on the image we substituted to see the original image posted at their blog. Thank you.
Looking for goth wedding cake ideas? The PinkCakeBox did this unusual Corpse Bride centerpiece for a Halloween wedding banquet. It’s chocolate with chocolate filling, doubly sinful and right for a perfect Halloween wedding.

The Pink Cake Box has granted permission for WeddingCakeHints to feature pastry chef and founder Anne’s wedding creations. Its very kind of the team especially since their cakes were showcased in several national and local magazines including Modern Bride, Brides NJ, NJ Bride, People Magazine, and Elegant Bride.
Anne’s been in love with baking since 6, ‘nough said. We’ll just show what she can do with flour, eggs, and sugar, like this astounding party dress cake…

Wow!
Girls, fairies, and weddings… they are somehow interconnected. For those who want to transform their fairytale wedding into reality, get inspired by this fabulous green wedding cake, fairy godmothers are optional.

Sarah of the LittleBakeHouse has kindly granted us permission to use her photos. She describes herself in her Flickr profile as a bit tomboyish and infatuated with baking and gingham. She says she’s fascinated with the amazing things that can be created with a few basic ingredients and we agree, as she does have a few fabulous wedding cakes to show off.
Take a look at her basic ingredients…

That’s a Jack Daniel’s, a French brandy, and a locally famous apple cider. We know somebody who would fret at the thought of such fine liquors used to “feed” cakes rather than wet his whistle.
Chef Mendy created this 4-layer chocolate and cream cake with delicate lacy borders. It’s topped and accented by white Calla Lillies. The flower represents majestic beauty and is a symbol of purity. Cakes with this motif are said to be just right for spring or Easter weddings but who cares? Beautiful wedding cakes are perfect the whole year round.

CakesbythePound of Mendy K. Pound (Pastry Chef/Owner) and Gabriel Vidauri (dishwasher/operations manager/co-owner) has granted permission to WeddingCakeHints.com to showcase Chef Mendy’s artistic creations. CakesbythePound is a professional outfit whose motto is “if you think it we can bake it.”
The striking Chef Mendy (she’s got strawberry hair and is svelte in spite of all the sweet stuff) has a lot of international education and experience inĀ creating cakes and pastries but what caught our attention in their about page was she was an artist before she baked wedding cakes and has a sweet tooth (something we have in common
). It is our humble opinion that the best person for any job is somebody who loves everything about it.
Her partner Gabriel, who takes care of the dishes and business, says he’s a soundman with an eye (and maybe a tooth?) for edible and sweet art. A really nice guy judging by the way he replied to our email so it won’t be a problem contacting him.
So if somebody in the City of Angels needs a heavenly wedding cake for that special day, these duo might just be the saviour.
Update:
Gabriel has sent us a little story of how CakesbythePound came about. In his words…
I met Mendy during the filming of Welcome to the Parker, in Palm springs. I was the audio supervisor
for the television crew and she was the Executive Pastry chef there. The show took 3 months to film, so
during that time, Mendy and I got to know each other. After corresponding for sometime we decided to open up Cakes by the Pound. Her father, Mr. Pound, came up with the name.
Pictures can be worth a thousand words but what they tell are sometimes not enough. Just take a look at this pink classic with clean and modern lines. Three pink layers united by a wide chocolate ribbon. There certainly is more to it than what the photo says. It makes a nice, light choice for those looking for chocolate wedding cake designs.

A closer view of this beauty…

Shara, the designer/creator, describes her as having “strawberry cake top and bottom layers… caramel and pastry cream filling on a vanilla cake middle layer.” Sounds yummy.
