Creamy 3 layer round chiffon wedding cake.

Gabriel Vidauri, operations manager of cakesbythepound.com, has sent us photo of one of the latest creations by Chef Mendy K. Pound. He described it as, ” a chiffon cake with vanilla pastry cream as a filling and berries. The outside is has sugar roses.”

We assume the pretty lady posing with the cake is the bride. The laptop in front of her is NOT real. It is the groom’s cake. Gabriel described it as “chocolate buttermilk  covered in fondant.

The people behind CakesByThePound are real nice and they serve the Los Angeles area.

Pink wedding cupcakes embellished with pearls.

Note: These cakes are by Shara of CakesByShara.net.

Shara has a special note about this wedding cake,”This wedding was finished by the bride. She did the custom stand and arranged the cupcakes and final cake.” Almost a DIY wedding cake. We like the simplicity of the ensemble and the notion of convenience by using cupcakes.

Let it show! let it show! let it show! The “ber” months are here and a few cuddly couples are already dreaming of a white wedding. Well, the cake featured in this post is perfect for a showgirl party but it’s georgeous red color, crystal monogram topping, and pearl borders also evokes images of luxurious Christmas weddings with Santa. The chocolate cupcakes also reminds of  the jolly fellow’s little elves.

Sans the ostrich feathers, it can stand proud beside other Christmas wedding cake designs. BTW, the song “Let it snow!” is actually a pop love song and not once did it mention Christmas.

This is a wedding cake for goths with classic tastes or for those intent on having their wedding on halloween but are looking for simple designs that excudes a “witchy” aura. Presenting a georgeous round 4-layer creation in black and ivory, enough to feed an army of sweet-toothed undead. The black bow topper says it all.

Autumn wedding cake with swirls of orange.

Somebody shouts “autumn!” What colors come to mind? Orange and warm yellow. The featured wedding cake was supposedly themed after a famous painting but we say its lovely colors of various shades of orange will make it fit right in with autumn or fall themed weddings. The orange swirls and vertical stripes in caramel and black lend it an elegant air. It’s apple spice with caramel mousse filling.

Pumpkin pie! That’s what came to mind when we saw this creation by Chef Anne. Three burnt-sugar layers (a square one sandwiched between 2 round layers) filled with Oreos and cream. Frosting is chocolate-buttercream. Strategically-placed gumpaste acorns and autumn leaves complete this design fit for a thanksgiving wedding theme.

White wedding cake with pears.

Here’s a fruity twist to traditional white wedding cakes by Shara. Three white layers decorated with chocolate vines and pears. In Greek Mythology, the pear is sacred to Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love. The cake’s pears, looking like real fruit, were shaped by hand from fondant.

Strawberry and death-by-chocolate wedding cake.

Sorry but that’s what really came to mind when we first saw this photo of a strawberry and chocolate wedding cake by Shara, death by chocolate. Just married couples who are ready to take their first bite of a copy of this cake must feel like they are about to commit the ultimate sin.

That’s 2 layers of sinful sweetness decorated with real strawberries and smothered in chocolate sauce. Simply writing that line made my mouth water.

Pink and black wedding cake with pink mums.

Talk about striking wedding cakes, pink and black sure makes this one by Sarah a show stopper. Not all brides will be thrilled at the thought of a black cake gracing their wedding but for those with modern themes, this one will surely blend in. Do the thin chocolate bands around the top layer remind anybody of a ballerina’s shoe laces?
